Posterior sepal 5 mm. long; wing sepals 8 x 6 mm., obliquely broadly obovate in outline, glabrous; anterior sepals 4 mm. long, free.
Upper petals 5.5–6 x 3 mm., obliquely oblong, lobed at one side; carina 5.5 mm. long, crest 4 mm. long.
Seeds 2 x 1 mm., densely sericeous; caruncle c. 1 mm. long, sagittate, appendages scarcely developed.
Capsule 7 x 2.8 mm., narrowly oblanceolate-oblong in outline, ciliate on the margin.
Perennial herb up to 2.5 m. tall, with wiry, minutely appressed-pubescent stems.
Leaves 20–80 x 0.5–1 mm., linear, with needle-like points, glabrous.
