Characteristics

Perennial, prostrate herb, 0.1 m high. Leaves alternate, hairy, smaller towards base of stem, upper leaves elliptic to lanceolate, lower leaves ± suborbicular. Flowers purple, pink, mauve and yellow, in terminal compact racemes 10-20 mm long; pedicels up to 1 mm long; wings 3-5 x 2.0-2.5 mm. Flowering time summer. Fruit: membranous appendage of caruncle shorter than a quarter of length of seed.
