Characteristics

Small, sparsely leafy, glabrous, dwarf shrub, 0.1-0.7 m high. Leaves alternate, usually 2-6 mm long, linear or elliptic, thick, flat or grooved above, ciliate or scabrous. Flowers papilionaceous, glabrous or pubescent, pink, magenta or white. Flowering time Aug.-Dec. or all year. Fruit a membranous capsule, oblong, narrowed at base, with a narrow, compressed rim. Seed oblong, hairy.
