Characteristics

Shrubs ca. 4 m tall. Branchlets terete, glabrous. Petiole ca. 1 cm, pubescent, sulcate adaxially; leaf blade green, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, 16-19 × 4-5 cm, papery, both surfaces glabrous, midvein raised abaxially, sulcate adaxially, lateral veins 9-12 pairs, anastomosing near margin, raised abaxially, reticulate veins distinct, base obtuse to rounded, apex acuminate. Racemes terminal or axillary, glabrous, 13-14 cm at fruiting, drooping. Flowers not seen. Fruit paired, purple-red, reniform, ca. 9 mm in diam., broadly winged, without persistent sepals, apex retuse. Capsules rugose-striate. Seeds 2, only 1 reaching maturity, black, globose, glabrous; strophiole helmet-shaped. Fl. unknown, fr. Mar.
