Characteristics

Flowers pinkish or mauve, pedicels 2 mm. long, in terminal racemes up to 12 cm. long with patent-pubescent rhachis and small, pubescent, scarious or subscarious caducous bracts 1.5–2 mm. long and bracteoles 0.8–1 mm. long.

Leaves 5–30 x 2–7 mm., narrowly oblong-elliptic to narrowly elliptic or occasionally almost suborbicular near the base of the stem, pubescent, blunt at the apex.
Capsule 6–7 x 3–4.5 mm., oblong-elliptic, ciliolate on the margins, apical lobes rounded, marginal wing very narrow except at the apex.
Subarbustos o hierbas vivaces. Alas petaloides persistentes. Quilla crestada. Estambres fertiles ocho. Capsula estrechamente alada.
Posterior sepal 2 mm. long; wing sepals 4–4.5 x 2.5 mm., obliquely elliptic, glabrous; anterior sepals 1.5 mm. long, connate.
Seeds 4 x 1.2 mm., cylindric, with a very dense white silky indumentum; caruncular appendages minute.
