Characteristics

Perennial, slender, greyish, crisped-pubescent dwarf shrub or herb, 0.15-0.50 m high. Leaves narrow, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, linear to linear-lanceolate, mucronate and recurved at apex. Flowers white, papilionaceous, in terminal racemes up to 100 mm long, with sparsely pubescent rhachis and caducous bracts and bracteoles; wings 4.5-5.0 x 2-3 mm, obovate-elliptic, with a conspicuous greenish midvein. Flowering time Sept.-Apr. Fruit a capsule, 4.5-5.0 x 2.5-3.0 mm, narrowly obovate in outline, glabrous, margins narrowly winged. Seed cylindrical, with dense, white, silky hairs, caruncular appendages ± 0.5 mm long.

Posterior sepal 2 mm. long; wing sepals narrowly obovate-elliptic, 6 x 2.5 mm., glabrous, rounded at the apex; anterior sepals free, 2 mm. long.
Seeds cylindric, 3 x 1.5 mm., with dense, white, silky hairs; caruncular appendages about 0.5 mm. long.
