Rounded shrublet to 80 cm, with stems slender and shortly velvety. Leaves linear, spreading-upcurving, often crisped-hairy when young, margins revolute. Flowers few in short, lateral or sometimes terminal racemes, purple to pink, side petals deeply bilobed, dorsal lobe larger.
Leaves up to 12 x 1.5 mm., linear becoming terete by revolution of the margins which usually entirely conceals the lower surface except for a narrow gap, pubescent or glabrous, often needle-like.
Posterior sepal 3 mm. long; wing sepals 7–9 x 5–6 mm., obliquely ovate, unguiculate, glabrous; anterior sepals 2.5 x 2 mm., free, ovate.
Flowers purplish, pedicels 2–3 mm. long, in short terminal or lateral 1–5-flowered racemes up to about 1.5 cm. long.
Ericoid shrublet up to 1 m. tall; stems densely crisped-pubescent or white-tomentellous or sometimes glabrous.
Capsule and seeds only seen in an immature state; caruncular appendages apparently about 1 mm. long.
Upper petals, carina and stamens as in P. gazensis.
Style 8 mm. long.
