Characteristics

Scantily branched, erect, glabrous, dwarf shrub, ± 0.8 m high. Leaves alternate, narrowly lanceolate-elliptic, rigid, margins thickened and hyaline. Flowers in terminal racemes, papilionaceous, purple; side petals shortly, subequally bilobed. Flowering time June-Oct. or all year. Fruit a membranous capsule, obovate, with a marginal wing. Seed ellipsoid, hairy, lobes of caruncle short.
