Annual herb, erect with spreading or ascending branches or decumbent, up to 20 cm high; indumentum of curved and straight hairs. Leaf margins and alae occasionally tinged red. Leaves lanceolate or elliptic to obovate, 9–95 mm long, 3–23 mm wide; apex rounded, obtuse or truncate, lower leaves often acute, mucro 0.5–0.6 mm long; petiole 0–2 mm long. Inflorescence supra-axillary or axillary, a raceme to 27 (–40) mm long, not exceeding the leaves. Pedicel lacking or up to 1.5 mm long. Alae antrorse to perpendicular in fruit (position), herbaceous, ovate, 7.7–12.0 mm long, (2.8–) 4.5–9.0 mm wide, margins ciliate, otherwise glabrous or glabrescent.
