Characteristics

Flowers greenish-purple, pedicels 1.5–2 mm. long, in elongated, terminal racemes up to 20 cm. long with glabrous rhachis, caducous bracts 1.3–2mm. long and bracteoles 0.5–0.8 mm. long.

Upper petals 4.5 x 3 mm., obliquely cuneate, slightly emarginate at the apex, salmon-pink or purple-pink; carina 5 mm. long, greenish or pinkish-purple tipped with blue; crest absent.
Posterior sepal 3 mm. long; wing sepals 3.5–5 x 2.5–3 mm., ovate-elliptic, unguiculate, glabrous; anterior sepals 2 mm. long, connate.
Leaves 2–8 x 0.4–1.4 cm., linear-elliptic to very narrowly elliptic, slightly scabrid on the margins, otherwise glabrous.
Seeds 3 x 1.2mm., ellipsoid, with dense, white, silky hairs; caruncle 0.8 mm. long, appendages scarcely developed.
Annual with glabrous, ridged, arcuate-ascending stems, up to 50 cm. tall.
Capsule 4.5–5 x 3.5–4 mm., oblong, glabrous, margin narrowly winged.
