Characteristics

A tree to 20 m. tall with grey bark and a flattish crown.. Leaves up to 60 cm. long (sometimes more than double this length on sapling branches), imparipinnate; leaflets 7–11 pairs, chartaceous to coriaceous, lanceolate to ovate or broadly elliptic, frequently ± oblique, up to 13 cm. long by 5.5 cm. wide (sometimes nearly twice as large on saplings), acuminate, cordate to rounded at base, entire to shallowly undulate, stellate-pubescent beneath and sparsely so above when young, glabrescent; petiolules of paired leaflets on mature branches up to 0.8 cm. long, glabrous, but up to 3.5 cm. long and pubescent on sapling branches.. Inflorescence-branches glabrous or almost so; primaries up to 30 cm. long by 3 mm. diameter; secondaries 1.0–4.5 cm. long by 0.5–1.0 mm. diameter, both orders racemosely borne; tertiaries (pedicels) 3–15 mm. long by 0.3–0.6 mm. diameter in umbellules.. Flowers greenish-yellow.. Styles 2, persistent.. Fruits flattened-ovoid to-ellipsoid, up to 6.5 mm. long, ribbed, glabrous.. Fig. 4/8, p. 13.
