Cultivation

Poor-quality variety. Origin: south Florida. Tree: production is concentrated during middle to late summer (August-October) and winter (February-March) and has been lighter than TREC 9680. Fruit: large, uniform, and attractive with a favorable pulp to seed ratio (17.4). Eating quality is rated inferior because of the dry, mealy flesh with little aroma. Fruit weight averages 375 g (range 185-675), with seed number averaging 1.8 (range 1-4), and seed weight averaging 12 g.
