Tall liane with young stems smooth; older stems brownish, obscurely lenticellate.. Stipules ovate, 0.5–1 mm. long.. Petiole 8–16 mm. long; blade subcoriaceous, lead-coloured beneath when dry, pale above, elliptic or oblong-elliptic, (5.5–)7–13(–15) cm. long (3–)3.5–8 cm. wide, acute to acuminate, cuneate, veins prominent, especially below; margin very obscurely toothed, somewhat undulate.. Inflorescence puberulent; bracts ovate, 0.5–1 mm. long, acute, ciliolate, persistent; pedicels 0.5–1 mm. long, puberulent.. Buds subglobose, ± 0.8–1 mm. long.. Flowers greenish, conspicuously veined darker, ± 3–3.5 mm. in diameter.. Sepals subequal, ovate, ± 1 mm. long, acute, ciliolate.. Petals obovate, 1.5–2 mm. long, unguiculate, rounded, ciliate.. Disc cushion-like, obscurely 5-lobed.. Stamens with short flattened filaments widened at the base.. Ovules 5–8 per locule; stigmas united..
