Liane or scandent shrub to 12 m. in height; young stems smooth, green; older stems brownish without obvious lenticels.. Stipules triangular, ± 0.5 mm. long.. Leaves with a thick petiole 8–15(–20) mm. long; blade subcoriaceous, yellowish green, ± concolorous, oblong-elliptic, elliptic or rarely ovate-elliptic, (6–)7–16(–20) cm. long (2.5–)3–9(–11.5) cm. wide, obtuse, rounded or sometimes bluntly acuminate at apex, rounded to abruptly cuneate at base, prominently reticulate-veined beneath; margin usually shallowly dentate but occasionally ± entire.. Inflorescence glabrous; bracts ovate, ± 1 mm. long, minutely fimbriate; pedicels 1–1.5 mm. long.. Buds globose, 1–1.5 mm. long.. Flowers greenish or creamy-green, ± 2.5–3 mm. in diameter.. Sepals subequal, ovate, 0.5–1 mm. long, rounded, ciliolate.. Petals oblong-elliptic, 1.5–2.5 mm. long, erect, somewhat incurved, rounded, entire, erose or minutely dentate..
