Grows in shallow red clay soils over massive basalt pavements in low, open woodland of Corymbia latifolia, Livistona eastonii and Terminalia canescens over Chrysopogon sp., Cleome aff. tetrandra, Cyperus sp., Eriosema chinense, Fimbristylis schultzii, Gossypium australe, Haemodorum macfarlanei, Heliotropium sp., Jacquemontia spp., Pimelea concreta, Polymeria sp., Rostellularia clementii, Synostemon sp., Tricoryne sp., Triodia claytonii and Typhonium liliifolium.
