Characteristics

Shrub 0.9–3.6 m. tall, with branched pubescent to densely hairy stems.. Leaf-blades elliptic or oblong-elliptic, 1.8–11 cm. long, 0.7–4.7(–5) cm. wide, acute to shortly or distinctly acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, more or less softly pubescent, often densely so beneath, particularly on the nerves; petiole 4–8 mm. long; stipules with 2 filiform fimbriae up to 4.5 mm. long.. Flowers in lax rather few-flowered cymes; peduncle ± 2 cm. long; bracts filiform, 8–9 mm. long, slightly spathulate at the apex.. Calyx-tube narrowly turbinate, 3 mm. long, hairy; lobes 5–6, filiform, subequal, 2–6 mm. long or 1 often enlarged into a stipitate yellow, white or cream pubescent lamina; blade oblong, ovate or elliptic, 1.5–5.5 cm. long, 1–4.5 cm. wide, rounded and apiculate to acute at the apex, rounded or cordate at the base; stipe 1–3.5 cm. long.. Corolla yellow, hairy; tube 2.5–3.5 cm. long, greenish at the base, throat with orange-yellow hairs; lobes ovate, 4–8 mm. long, 3–5 mm. wide, caudate at the apex.. Stigma green..
