Characteristics

Leaflets 2.2–8 × 0.4–1.4 cm, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate (rarely more than 4 times as long as broad), glabrous save for scattered hairs along the margins and midvein; petiole 1–2.8 cm long; stipules appendaged below the point of insertion, 6–8 mm long overall.

Standard 0.8–1.5 × 1–1.5 cm, subcircular, emarginate at the apex, auriculate at the base; wings 8–10 × 3–5 mm, blade ovate, constricted at the base with a basal appendage to 3 mm long; keel 9 × 4 mm, trapeziform.
Inflorescence an axillary pseudoraceme; peduncle 1–4.5 cm long, glabrous; rhachis 4–8 mm long; bracts up to 2 mm long, lanceolate, caducous; pedicel 3–7 mm long; bracteoles up to 7 mm long, oblong-lanceolate.
Calyx 5-lobed, glabrous; tube 3–4 mm long; lobes 1–2.5 mm long, triangular, save for middle lower lobe which is up to 4 mm long and narrowly lanceolate.
Ovary 5–10 mm long, narrowly cylindrical, obscurely 4-winged, glabrous or sparsely hairy; stigma terminal, penicillate.
