Characteristics

Straggling, prostrate, mat-like, lax shrublet, up to 0.4 m high, resprouter. Stems many, green, weakly angular. Stipules triangular, adnate to base, small, appressed. Leaves 1-foliolate. Leaflet narrowly lanceolate to linear, asymmetrical, glabrous, acute at both ends, shiny. Inflorescences axillary, 1-flowered, on long glabrous, filiform pedicels up to 4x longer than flowers, equal to or exceeding leaves. Cupulum subterminal, 2/3 up pedicel, minute. Flowers mauve. Calyx: lobes equal, triangular, black-dotted. Petals: standard mauve with violet and white nectar patch, sharply reflexed; wings mauve, as long as keel. Flowering time Nov.-Mar.
