Characteristics

Trailing, decumbent shrublet, up to 0.3 m high, resprouter. Stems green, hirsute, white-hairy. Stipules linear triangular, hirsute, spreading to recurved. Leaves 1-foliolate. Leaflet narrowly ovate to broadly lanceolate, symmetrical, base cordate, apex acute, both surfaces with reticulate venation, upper surface sparsely hairy, margins and main vein of lower surface hirsute. Inflorescences axillary, 1-flowered, equal to or longer than subtending leaf. Cupulum terminal, small, senescent, 3-fid. Flowers blue, on long, hairy, filiform pedicels up to 4x longer than flowers. Calyx: equally lobed, ± lanceolate, villous. Petals: standard blue with white and purple nectar patch; wings blue, slightly longer than keel. Flowering time Oct.-May.
