Characteristics

Prostrate trailing shrub, resprouter. Stems green, flattened. Stipules lanceolate, with conspicuous parallel venation, spreading. Leaves 1-foliolate. Leaflet elliptic to oblong, base cordate, apex mucronate, both surfaces with wispy white hairs. Inflorescences axillary, 1-flowered; pedicels slender to filiform, up to twice longer than flowers, shorter than subtending leaf. Flowers purple. Cupulum terminal, small, senescent, 3-fid. Calyx with triangular lobes, hirsute. Petals: standard purple with white and deep purple nectar patch; wings purple, slightly longer than keel. Flowering time Sept.-May.
