Rosette leaves 4–6, elliptic, 10–40 x 8–20mm, dark green, margins entire or crinkled. Flower stem 150–25 tall. Flower semi-nodding, 19–25 x 9–12mm, translucent white and green, apex tan to reddish-brown. Dorsal sepal of similar length to petals, sharply pointed. Lateral sepals loosely embracing galea and separated from petals by wide side gap. Sinus bulging in side view, broadly notched in front view. Free points tapered, 20–2 long, erect or recurved. Petals pointed. Labellum sharply curved, protruding prominently from sinus when set, 14–16 x 3.5–4mm, reddish-brown, tapered to sharp point.
Widespread and often locally common in coastal and adjacent foothill areas growing on slopes and swales in scrub, heathy forest and littoral rainforests in freely draining sands; also found in hinterland ranges growing on sheltered slopes and beside streams, sometimes on hummocks within streambeds.
