Characteristics

Rosette leaves 5–9, ovate to oblong, 5–15 x 3–10mm, dark green, margins with transparent silica-cells. Flower stem 80–10  tall, lengthening to 20  as flowering and capsule development proceeds. Flower semi-nodding, 12–15 x 6–8mm, translucent white with dark purplish-brown stripes and markings. Dorsal sepal apex narrowly tapered, 6–  long. Sinus prominently bulging in side view, nearly flat in front view, with two tiny internal lobes. Free points 10–1  long, erect or recurved, divergent, tips thickened. Labellum curved, protruding prominently from sinus when set, 4–5 x 1.5mm, thick, fleshy, sausage-like, dark brown, covered in tiny wart-like structures.

Environment

Highly localised and mainly found well inland from coast, growing around and under shrubs in mallee woodland, thick shrubland and streamside vegetation in clay loam and sands; also in shallow soil on granite outcrops and in deep leaf litter near granite outcrops where run-off is concentrated.
