Characteristics

Rosette leaves 5–12, 10–25 x 8–12mm, dark green, margins entire. Flower stem 100–30  tall, 3–10-flowered. Sterile bracts 7–10. Flowers widely spaced, bright green with darker green stripes, 8–11 x 4–5mm. Lateral sepals deeply pouched, 4.5–5.5 x 6–  when flattened, paler than dorsal sepal. Petals 7–8 x 2.5–3mm, translucent green, margins smooth. Labellum rectangular, 2.2–2.5 x 2mm, pale whitish-green with dark greenish-black appendage c.2.5 x 1.2mm, with short blunt protruding central ridge.

Widespread and common from mountains to tablelands and inland plains, growing in grassland, Callitris forest and drier open forests and woodlands, particularly those with grassy groundcover, in freely draining gravels, shaley soil and loam; generally uncommon to rare on coast.
