Characteristics

Rosette leaves 3–7, ovate, 3–10 x 3–7mm, dull bluish-green, margins entire. Flower stem 70–25  tall, very slender, wiry, 1–5-flowered. Sterile bracts leafy, to 15 x 4.5mm. Flowers well spaced, 1–3 open at once, externally smooth, 8–10 x 3.5–4mm, base green and white, apex flushed with light brown, sometimes wholly pale green and white. Dorsal sepal shorter than petals, both smooth. Synsepalum flat in side view, bulging and curved inwards at top; frontal opening deeply notched. Free points filiform, c.  long, extending well above top of hood. Labellum tip visible through sinus in set position, broadly elliptical, 3.2–3.7 x 1.5–1.8mm, light brown and white.

Localised, growing among shrubs in shallow stony soil and clay loam on rocky ridges and sheltered slopes in sparse open forest; also in tall heathy shrubland on rock outcrops and in accumulations of gravelly soil and moss pads on granite boulders.
