Rosette leaves 5–20, narrowly to broadly elliptic, 40–80 x 12–18mm. Flower stem 300–90 tall, 2– across, 2–20-flowered. Stem bracts 4–6. Flowers porrect to semi-erect, 30–35 x 6–8mm, translucent white with green or brown markings and chequered patterns, sometimes wholly green or brownish. Dorsal sepal point filamentous, 8–1 long, porrect to upcurved. Lateral sepals about as wide as hood, flat to shallowly concave, sparsely hairy, margins incurved; free points filamentous, 10–1 long, curved forwards, sometimes hooked, parallel or divergent. Petals with relatively small basal flanges which do not meet, 15–17 x 5mm. Labellum ovate-oblong, 6–6.5 x 1.6–2mm, tapered from near base, thick, fleshy, broadly channelled; margins with 10–16 incurved bristles to long; basal lobe broad, thick, with few bristles to long.
Widespread in inland areas, growing in range of habitats including drier forests and woodland, mallee communities, shrubland and broombush communities in freely draining sandy soils and clay loam.
