Characteristics

Rosette leaves 6–10, obovate, 15–60 x 6–20mm, prominently veined. Flower stem 100–40  tall, 1–  thick, 2–10-flowered. Sterile bracts 3–5. Flowers porrect, 18–22 x 6–8mm, hood translucent white with dark olive green bands and tones, lateral sepals red-brown, shiny (whole flowers can range from rusty-brown to greenish-black). Dorsal sepal point acuminate, 1–  long. Lateral sepals reflexed back towards ovary, as wide as hood, shallowly concave to nearly flat, margins incurved, glabrous, gradually tapered into free points; free points 1–  long, weakly divergent. Petals with large basal flanges which do not meet, 8–11 x 3–4mm. Labellum oblong, 3.8–4.2 x 1.8–2mm, fleshy, dark red-brown, apex blunt; basal lobe thick, with very short white bristles; margins with 8–12 white bristles 1–1.  long.
