Pterostylis glyphida (D.L.Jones) G.N.Backh.

Rosette leaves, 3–6, ovate, 3–12 x 3–6mm, dull green, margins entire. Flower stem 80–35
 tall, sturdy, wiry, 1–7-flowered. Flowers moderately crowded, shiny, 1–3 open at once, externally smooth, 10–13 x 4.5–5mm, base green and white, apex dark brown to blackish-brown. Dorsal sepal about as long as petals, both smooth. Synsepalum flat in side view, curved inwards at top; frontal opening deeply notched. Free points narrowly tapered, 2–2.5mm, just reaching above top of hood. Labellum not visible through sinus in any position, elliptical, 4.5–5.5 x 1.8–2.2mm, dark brown and white, pointed.

Highly localised, growing in open areas of stunted heathy forest dominated by Kunzea parvifolia on or near sheets of sandstone and sandstone outcrops in grey sandy loam to stony skeletal loam.
