Characteristics

Rosette leaves 4–20 x 3–10mm, margins strongly crinkled. Flower stem 150–40  tall. Flower erect, 27–35 x 17–23mm, white and green with rich red-brown markings, tip sharply curved. Petals widely flared. Dorsal sepal tip 2–  long. Sinus flat, bulging in side view, broad and flat in front view. Free points 30–5  long, filiform, erect. Labellum protruding prominently from sinus when set, 17–20 x 3–3.5mm, red-brown, straight, constricted and narrowed to curved apex, tip swollen into knob.

Widespread and often locally common from coast to hinterland areas and in N part of range extending to higher ranges and tablelands, growing in a range of moist sheltered habitats including coastal scrub, heathy forest, woodland and tall wet forests in freely draining loams, clay loams and sands.
