Characteristics

Rosette leaves 5–8, oblong to ovate, 10–30 x 6–12mm. Flower stem 70–20  tall, 1–1.  across, 2–10-flowered. Stem bracts 2–4. Flowers porrect, 25–27 x 8–10mm, translucent with green to brown or red-brown bands and chequered patterns. Dorsal sepal point filamentous, 4–  long, porrect to upcurved. Lateral sepals deflexed, wider than hood, usually concave, margins incurved, hairy; free points filamentous, 9–1  long, divergent or incurved. Petals with very small basal flanges, 10–12 x 3–4.5mm. Labellum oblong-tapered, 4–5 x 1.8–2mm, dark red-brown, thick, fleshy, deeply channelled, hairy; margins with 8–10 white bristles to   long; basal lobe narrower than blade, thick, glabrous or with few short bristles.
