Characteristics

Rosette stalk 30–7  long; leaves 3–6, 10–40 x 2–5mm. Flower stem 120–50  tall; stem leaves 5–8, 15–95 x 2–7mm. Flowers 1–11, shiny, 10–13 x 5.5–6.5mm, pale translucent green with transparent areas and indistinct darker green stripes. Dorsal sepal tip green to brown. Lateral sepals about as wide as galea or slightly wider, 9–13 x 5.5–6.5mm, margins curved, tips green to brown. Petals without basal flanges, 10–13 x 2–2.5mm, outer margin shallowly curved. Labellum 4.5–5.5 x 2.5–3mm, broadest at base then tapered, pale green to yellowish with brown to black basal mound and blackish central stripe, appearing hairy because of long hair-like surface cells over most of labellum.

Environment

Often locally common, particularly in coastal and near-coastal districts, but also extending to coastal ranges and tablelands, growing among shrubs and ferns in moist to wet forests (including rainforest margins), fern gullies, coastal scrub and heath in freely draining to moisture-retentive soils.
