Rosette leaves 5–8, broadly elliptic, 15–50 x 6–20mm. Flower stem 200–50 tall, 2–15-flowered. Stem bracts 5–8. Flowers porrect to semi-erect (sometimes semi-nodding), 25–30 x 8–10mm, hairy, translucent white with green and brown markings (sometimes wholly green with translucent white areas). Dorsal sepal point filamentous, 3– long, porrect to upcurved. Lateral sepals much broader than hood, concave, densely hairy, margins thickened; free points filamentous, 8–1 long, widely divergent. Petals with large basal flanges blocking off base of opening, 12–13 x 4–4.5mm. Labellum oblong, 4.5–5 x 1.6–2mm, thick, fleshy, green to brown, densely hairy, broadly channelled; margins with 10–16 spreading bristles 2–4. long; basal lobe white, thick, with numerous short bristles.
Widespread and common in inland areas, growing among litter in drier types of eucalypt forest with sparse groundcover, Callitris woodland and on rocky slopes and ridges in freely draining gravels and sands; also in shallow soil on rock outcrops.
