Characteristics

Leaves scattered, 30–70 x 20–30mm, dark green, fleshy, flat. Flower stem 80–20  tall, smooth. Flower erect, 25–30 x 12–16mm, light green and white, tip curved forwards. Dorsal sepal of similar length to petals, sharply pointed. Lateral sepals with wide side gap. Sinus prominently bulging in side view, deeply notched in front view. Free points tapered, 10–1  long, recurved with incurved tips. Petals widely flared. Labellum protruding prominently from sinus when set, 13–20 x 4–5mm, aqua blue, curved or coiled near apex, bluntly pointed.

Restricted to sheltered montane and subalpine habitats, growing among grass and ferns beside small streams and rivulets in moist to wet humus-rich loam; also under tall dense thickets of mountain teatree in black oozing mud covered with leaf litter; less commonly in soaks and springs in peaty soils and sphagnum mounds.
