Characteristics

Rosette leaves 6–10, oblong to elliptic, 10–30 x 5–15mm. Flower stem 150–30  tall, 1.5–  across, 1–6-flowered. Sterile bracts 2–5. Flowers widely spaced, porrect, 33–35 x 7–8mm, glabrous, hood transparent with pale red-brown lines and markings, lateral sepals wholly red-brown, petals transparent with red-brown lines. Dorsal sepal point filamentous, 5–1  long, upcurved. Lateral sepals reflexed back towards ovary, about as wide as hood, flat or shallowly concave, margins nearly flat, glabrous; free points filamentous, 15–1  long, divergent. Petals with large basal flanges that do not meet, 11–13 x 3.5–  wide. Labellum oblong, thick, tapered sharply to blunt apex, 3.8–4.2 x 1.6–1.8mm, brown, broadly grooved, densely covered with siliceous cells; marginal bristles 10–16, to 2.  long; basal lobe erect, with 8–12 projecting white bristles c.  long.
