Characteristics

Rosette leaves 2–5, ovate, 4–10 x 3–10mm, mid green, margins with a line of transparent siliceous cells. Flower stem 35–8  tall, scabrous to hairy; stem leaves 2–4, to 14 x 6mm. Ovary shortly hairy. Flower 12–14 x 3–4mm, white with green and light brown markings, apex usually light red-brown. Dorsal sepal about as long as petals, apex long-acuminate. Sinus nearly flat in side view, flat in front with dark green notch. Free points narrowly clubbed, 12–1  long, erect, recurved or incurved. Petals widely dilated and forming a distinct hood. Labellum hidden, oblong to elliptic, apex shallowly curved, 4.5–5 x 1.8–2mm, white with green to brown markings, margins glabrous.

Environment

Widespread and locally common, growing in low heath and melaleucas on winter-wet flats S of Kalbarri; under low shrubs on lateritic mesas and stony flats around Northampton and Geraldton; under York gum in brown clay near Perth and in white gum woodland and along creeklines in stony brown clay.
