Plants either lacking basal leaves and with 8–14 sessile stem leaves scattered up flower stem or with 3–4 stalked leaves to 40 x 2 in loose basal group, rest occurring as scattered stem leaves. Stem leaves stalkless, base encircling flower stem, lanceolate when flattened, 8–23 x 8–12mm, apex acuminate. Flower stem 100–40 tall, smooth. Flower erect or slightly nodding, 16–20 x 6–8mm, green and white, tip horizontal or curved downwards. Dorsal sepal with long tapered point, longer than petals. Sinus slightly bulging in side view, shallowly notched in front view with dark green central area. Free points filiform or slightly thickened, 20–2 long, erect. Petal margins sometimes slightly toothed. Labellum hidden, tip curved forwards, 5–6 x 2mm, oblong, basal margins scabrous.
Locally common mainly near coast but extending further inland in some areas, growing in and around winter-wet swamps and flats dominated by swamp paperbark (Melaleuca rhaphiophylla) in wet peaty soil.
