Rosette leaves 5–10, elliptic to oblong, 10–45 x 5–15mm. Flower stem 150–35 tall, slender, 1–10-flowered. Stem bracts 3–4. Flowers porrect to semi-erect, 30–35 x 9–11mm, dark reddish-brown with transparent patches, lateral sepals wholly red-brown, shiny. Dorsal sepal point acuminate, upcurved, 2– long. Lateral sepals wider than hood, shallowly concave, glabrous, margins strongly incurved, suddenly tapered into free points; free points tapered, 4– long, curved forwards, widely divergent. Petals with relatively small basal flanges, 11–14 x 3.5–5mm. Labellum broadly obovate, 4.5–6 x 2.5–3.5mm, dark brown, blunt, fleshy, shallowly channelled; marginal bristles 6–10, 1–3. long, basal pair most prominent; basal lobe thick, sloping backwards, with few small bristles.
