Rosette leaves 3–8, ovate to elliptic, 5–16 x 4–9mm, dark green, shiny, margins entire. Flower stem 60–15 tall, fleshy, narrowed towards base, lengthening to 30 in fruit. Flowers 1–7, moderately crowded, 6–7.5 x 2.5mm, externally smooth, bright green and white, shiny, on plump fleshy ovaries. Dorsal sepal about as long as petals, smooth. Synsepalum flat in side view, suddenly bulging near top; frontal opening broadly notched. Free points tapered, c. long, not extending above hood. Petals smooth. Labellum not visible from outside in any position, obovate, 3–4 x 1.5mm, dark green and white, blunt.
Widely distributed but disjunct, easily overlooked and rarely seen; grows in wet habitats that are often densely vegetated including buttongrass plains, bogs, soaks, swamps, teatree stands, sedgelands and seepage sites in moist to wet sands and peats, sometimes on mounds of decaying litter and peat; also on peat mounds in freshwater swamps.
