Characteristics

Rosette leaves 4–7, in loose basal rosette or some on stem, 20–65 x 10–25mm, dark green, margins wavy or crinkled. Flower stem 200–50  tall, smooth. Flower semi-nodding, 30–35 x 10–12mm, translucent white with green lines and markings, tip often brownish. Dorsal sepal slightly longer than petals, sharply pointed. Lateral sepals loosely embracing galea and separated from petals by wide side gap. Sinus curved in side view, broadly notched in front view. Free points tapered, 18–2  long, erect to recurved, extending above hood. Petals shortly pointed. Labellum strongly curved, protruding prominently from sinus when set, 16–18 x 4–5 mm, hairy, blunt.

Highly localised and generally rare, growing in moist sites around swamps and along stream banks in open forest and heathy forest, less commonly in montane forest, usually in moist heavy soils.
