Rosette leaves 5–15, elliptical, to ovate-lanceolate, 5–35 x 3–11mm. Flower stem 50–25 tall, 1– across, 1–10-flowered. Sterile bracts 2–5. Flowers porrect, moderately crowded, hood transparent with prominent dark red-brown lines and bands, lateral sepals wholly dark red-brown. Dorsal sepal point porrect to upcurved, 3– long. Lateral sepals about same width as hood or slightly wider, deeply concave, 5–9 x 6–9mm, margins flat, hairy; free points deflexed or curved forwards, 5–1 long, parallel. Petals with well-developed basal flanges that nearly meet, 8–12 x 2.5–3.5mm. Labellum narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 4–4.6 x 1.3–1.6mm, flat, dark red-brown, shortly hairy, constricted near junction with basal lobe; basal lobe small with few short hairs to long; marginal bristles 6–12, longest to long.
Highly localised, growing under shrubs, among Borya clumps and in crevices on two granite outcrops in gravelly loam.
