Characteristics

Plants robust, to 1.5 m; leaves 6 to numerous, oblong-lanceolate, acute, to 250 x 60 mm. Inflorescences dense, to c. 500 mm, numerous-flowered; bracts much longer than flowers, linear-acute, deflexed, green at flowering, to 35 x 10 mm. Flowers c. 25 x 12 mm, sepals green, petals yellowish, with red dots and darker veins, lip pale green to mauve with darker veins; ovary c. 15 mm long. Median sepal 8-12 x 2.5-5 mm, adnate to the petals; lateral sepals spreading, lanceolate, acuminate, 7-12 x 3-5 mm. Petals deltate, 8-12 x 5-7 mm, margins fimbriate. Lip 6-? x 4-6 mm, with a 1 mm wide base, margin fimbriate; appendage 7-9 x 3 mm, 2-lobed and saccate in upper half, white speckled with purple. Stigma lobes elliptic, c. 1 mm; rostellum c. 2 mm tall, arms c. 2 mm long.
