Pterygodium platypetalum Lindl.

Plants slender, often flexuose, to 240 mm; leaves usually 2, narrowly elliptic, acuminate to sub-apiculate, to c. 60 x 10 mm long. Inflorescences 1-2-flowered; bracts ovate-acute, 11-15 x 6-7 mm. Flowers c. 18 x 15 mm, pale yellowish-green; ovaries 8-10 mm long. Median sepal boat-shaped, acute, concave, c. 9 x 3.5 mm, adnate to the petals; lateral sepals spreading, saccate, sub-apiculate, apex recurved, 8-11 x 4-5 mm. Petals unequally quadrate, concave, 8-12 x 10-15 mm. Lip deltate, acute, with 2 small rounded side lobes, 3-4 mm long; appendage triangular, central lobe reflexed, lateral lobes erect, 4-5 mm long. Stigma lobes ovate, c. 1.5 mm long, at the base of the lip appendage posteriorly; rostellum c. 2 mm tall, arms c. 2 mm.
