Characteristics

An undershrub up to 40 cm high, erect or ascending. Young stem whitish appressed-pubescent to spreading-tomentose. Leaves digitately trifoliolate or sometimes occasional leaves unifoliolate; petiole 1-4(6) mm long, ± appressed-pubescent; leaflets (12)15-40 x (2)3-7(9) mm, oblanceolate to narrowly oblanceolate, the upper surface glabrous, the lower surface appressed-to sometimes almost spreading-pubescent. Flowers (1)2-4(6) per axil. Calyx 3-5 mm long, appressed-to spreading-pubescent. Petals blue or purple or perhaps rarely yellow; standard 5-7 mm long, spathulate or oblong-cuneate. Pods strongly coiled or spiralled, ± longitudinally channelled, (4)5-6 mm broad, densely greyish spreading-pubescent or villous.
