Origin: near Visalia, Calif., by Leonard K. Wileman, Wileman Bros. & Elliott, Cutler, Calif. Plant patent 3520; 12 Mar. 1974; assigned to Orange County Nursery, Norwalk, Calif. Introd. in 1979. Bud mutation of Wonderful; discovered in 1972. Tree: size medium, spreading, drooping, round topped; vigorous, hardy, productive; tolerant to most diseases and insects. Fruit: large, 2 1/4 to 3 1/4 inches in diam., round-oblate, uniform; skin deep red, attractive, smooth, glossy; flesh firm; ripens mid-September, 2 weeks before Wonderful; can be harvested in one picking.
