Medium-to medium-hard-seeded, sour, light yellow, almost white fruit with double white flowers. Origin: Shibamichi Nursery, Saitama, Japan; collected by S. March, A. Shibamichi, and F.P. Drake in 1985 for the USA National Arboretum. Given to the USDA-ARS National Clonal Germplasm Repository, Davis, CA in 1990. Tree: about 4 m tall and 2 m wide, with a vertical, open form; slower growing than other cultivars; leaf petioles contain no anthocyanin; grown as an ornamental for its double white flowers. Fruit: medium to large; rind light yellow, almost white; arils clear to yellow, medium-sized; seeds medium to medium-hard; flavor lemon-like, very tart, mellows on the tree in November and postharvest in refrigeration; fruits split along lobes of calyx, which may turn fruit completely inside-out in extreme cases; subject to skin blemish caused by wind damage.
