Characteristics

Plants 300-750 mm high. Corm 8-15 mm diam., producing naked stolons from base; tunics papery, becoming finely fibrous. Stem simple or branched. Leaves 6 to 9, mostly basal and reaching base of spike, narrowly lanceolate, 150-300 x 4-15 mm, cauline leaves ± 3, progressively smaller and entirely sheathing. Spike inclined, 2-to 10-flowered; bracts 10-18 mm long. Flowers pale to deep pink, all or only lower 3 tepals with dark pink median streak; tube (25-)30-45 mm long; tepals ± spreading, linear to lanceolate, 12-15 x 2-3, uppermost lanceolate, 3-7 mm wide. Filaments 6-7 mm long, exserted ± 4 mm from tube; anthers 5-6 mm long, purple. Style dividing opposite or beyond anther tips, branches 2-3 mm long. Capsules subglobose, ± 10 mm long. Seeds up to 8 per locule, 2-3 mm diam.
