Characteristics

Erect, virgate suffrutex up to 2.2 m high to a procumbent shrublet up to 0.3 m high. Leaves narrowly to broadly linear or narrowly to broadly obovate or suborbicular; leaves on flowering branches 9-32 x 1-14 mm; basal leaves 9-43 x 1-18 mm. Flowers 8-17 mm long. Pedicel 4-11 mm long Bract ± leafy. Calyx lobes slightly shorter than, ± as long as or longer than the tube, 2-7 mm long; upper lobes falcate-often broader than the others; carinal lobe sometimes shorter than the others. Standard ovate or elliptic or round, 6-14 x 7-13 mm. Wings oblong, shorter than the keel, 3-5 mm wide, with 4-8 rows of sculpturing; apex narrow or obtuse Keel 6-15 x 3-7 mm, sometimes long-rostrate. Pistil with ovary oblong to linear; style ± as long as or more after longer than the ovary. Pods obliquely oblanceolate, 20-35 mm long, rarely proximally gradually tapering into a arrow stipe. Seeds narrowly oblong to oblong.
