Achenes shortly obovoid-oblong, rounded-truncate above with 4–6 low broad ribs separated by narrow grooves, surface densely beset with closely-spaced single-celled tuberculate trichomes.
Involucre subglobose-cupuliform (urceolate), phyllaries increasing in size to the inside, somewhat scarious or lower part ± indurated.
Vegetative indumentum consisting of erect flagelliform hairs, intermixed with smaller appressed ± T-shaped hairs on young growth.
Capitula homogamous discoid, numerous in corymbiform cymes, capitula stalks short or to 2.5 cm. in R. apiifolium.
