A tree. It grows 4.5-6 m high and spreads 3-4.5 m wide. The bark if grey or brown and broken into small squares. The leaves are in rings of 3-6. They are simple and glossy. They are bright green above and dull green underneath. The leaves are 30 cm long. They have a white midrib. The flowers are white and in dense heads. These are at the ends of branches. The fruit is fleshy and almost round. They are green with white spots. They become black and wrinkled when mature. They have 1 or 2 seeds.
Leaves usually confined to the apices of the branchlets; petiole 0–60 mm. long, glabrous; lamina 1·8–50(70) x 0·8–15(19) cm., narrowly obovate to narrowly elliptic, subacute to acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, subcoriaceous to coriaceous, glossy glabrous, with 12–35(45) secondary veins on each side of the midrib.
Corolla hypocrateriform; tube white, greenish-or yellowish-white, 3–5·5 mm. long, inside pubescent from 1·5–4·5 mm. from the base to the lobes; lobes sometimes different from the tube in colour, white, greenish-or yellowish-white, 0·6–1·6 mm. long, ovate to obovate, inside pubescent at the base.
