Racemes terminal and from upper axils, 5–8.5 cm long, the flowers congested; rhachis densely velvety grey pubescent and with some longer yellow tubercular based hairs; pedicels 2 mm long.
Herb or subshrub 0.5–1.8 m tall; stems clustered, angular, with prominent nodes, densely grey pubescent when young, older parts glabrous; short lateral branches sometimes present.
Corolla yellow; standard with purple striae, 17 × 8 mm (including 5 mm long claw), oblong-obovate, auricled at the base, glabrous; keel with dark purple tips.
Calyx pubescent similar to rhachis; tube shortly tubular, 4–5 mm long; lobes subequal, 5–7 mm long, lanceolate, the upper pair shortly joined.
Ovary densely silky hairy.
