Characteristics

Erect or sometimes decumbent herb 10–18 cm. tall, presumably with several shoots from a woody rootstock.. Stems covered with a mixture of longer and shorter white or yellowish spreading hairs.. Leaflets 3, ovate or ovate-oblong in outline, 1–3·5 cm. long and wide, the terminal one ± 3-lobed, the lateral ones with an outer lobe, all obtuse at the apex, broadly rounded or truncate at the base, margins very coarsely crenate, somewhat bullate, shortly pilose above and on the main nerves beneath, also with relatively large scattered orange gland-dots beneath; petiole 1–3·3 cm. long; rhachis 0·5–1·2 cm. long; petiolules 2 mm. long; stipules persistent, ovate-lanceolate, 5–9 mm. long, 2–4 mm. wide, pilose.. Inflorescences axillary, 10–15-flowered; rhachis 3–7 cm. long, with white and yellowish glandular hairs mixed; peduncle 2·5–9 cm. long; pedicels 1–2 mm. long; bracts deciduous, lanceolate, 3·5–4 mm. long, 1 mm. wide.. Calyx pilose and with orange glands; tube 2·5–3 mm. long; lobes narrowly triangular-lanceolate, 2·5–4 mm. long, the upper pair scarcely connate or connate for one-third of their length.. Standard yellow, deeply flushed and veined dark red outside, obovate-obtriangular, 1–1·1 cm. long, 9·5–10 mm. wide, emarginate, glabrous.. Immature pods falcate, 1·8 cm. long, 5 mm. wide, covered with rather long white and some stiffer yellow hairs, the reticulate pattern discernible but obscure, possibly developing later..
